Arafel:

My name is Catherine and I have been a Pagan since early childhood. Growing up in rural central New York state, I observed weather patterns, the placements of the moon and sun as they danced through  the Wheel of the Year and the migratory habits of birds. I studied plants and trees and have fostered a tender interest in their well-being.I was introduced to Wicca about 12 years ago and have studied in groups and as a solitary. My path is now leading me to study the way of the Druids and I feel that my calling is work through the Three Degrees of Druidry, bring those teachings to others and serve to enrich the New York community.  I recently had my dedication and my chosen name is now " Arafel - Cìbeir a Àruinn (R-a-fell SY-beer ah Agh-ROON-e) – Shepherd of the forest".

Conrí Basir

I'm Conrí Basir, and I've been practicing witchcraft since 1999.  I was always fascinated by the supernatural as a child, especially stories about the magic of wizards and witches.  When I started researching the Craft, I found it intriguing.  I knew this was where I could belong.  Over the following years, I learned as much as I could about the Craft and all that it entails.  I am still learning, as I will be for the rest of my life.  When I became involved with Charmed by Starr, I knew that I had found a place in this big city.  My magickal name, Conrí Basir comes from two different languages.  â Conríâ means â wolf kingâ in Irish Gaelic, and â Basir ” means â intelligentâ or â wiseâ in Arabic.  If you get to know me, you will see how they fit me very well.

Lili:

Originally from Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  She majored in Theatre and minored in Vocal Music at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, but she doesn't work in theatre or music.  She works as an Administrative Assistant in a publishing company in Hoboken, and lives with her cats Cassie and Clara in East Orange.  Lili likes to read and write (but runs the other way when 'rithmetic is involved), listen to (mostly classical) music while picturing figure skaters in her head, and do various sorts of needlework.  Sometimes she does all of the above at the same time, while talking on the phone and playing with the cats.  She has been studying wicca seriously since April 2007, and is becoming more and more interested in the Pictish tradition.  She looks forward to learning more as time goes on.  She really enjoys getting together with the WFT for esbats and sabbats, but her two favorite days of the year are Tartan Day (leggy Scottish men in kilts) and Drums Along the Hudson (shirtless American Indian men in buskskins).  Lili's favorite colors are pink and green, her favorite song is "Who Wants to Live Forever," and her favorite movie is "Somewhere in Time."

THE ELEMENTALS

 Astara Woodhaven
I began practicing witchcraft & Wicca at the age of 12, and have always held a deep interest in learning about different religions, science, magic, and attaining personal fullfillment.

After practicing solitary for years, I felt a strong and sudden pull to practice and study with other like-minded individuals, and made a committment to myself to draw to me those who could help on this deeper, more concentrated journey of knowledge.   My ideology is extremely eclectic and I draw on not only wiccan paths, but on the studies, beliefs, theories, and knowledge of other religions and paths.  After my year and a day studying with the Wiccan Family Temple, I am deeply thankful to Starr,
Athena, Luna, and all of the witches I've come to know and love for their wisdom and generousity.

 K. Peaceweaver's

My spiritual journey has been gradual and eclectic.  She came to the Craft a decade ago, trading church walls for open fields and forest groves.  Her days of clown ministry and church choirs evolved into spellwork and Tarot, combined with Yoga and New Age influences to form the proud Witch
she is today.  Peaceweaver is a life-long herbivore and feminist, committed to honoring the Goddess through working to end oppression for all Her children.  A certified Level II Reiki practitioner, Peaceweaver is interested in exploring a wide array of spiritual traditions and tools.  In tandem with her spiritual endeavours, she is a fervent writer and performer.  Peaceweaver is honored to be a member of the Wiccan Family Temple, forever blessed and grateful to her teachers and sisters/brothers in the Craft for welcoming her home.

 Natasha M.

I was drawn to Wicca because of it's reverance for both the male & female divinity within the universe.  It also encompases my beliefs in Astrology, divination and the spirit world.
I practiced as a Solitary for about 3 years, yet I needed more focused study, and pointed answers to my philosophical & practical questions. This is what brought me to the Wiccan Family Temple, where I have enjoyed my study.

Hectuba

I was born into a Jewish household, but never truly embraced the religion.  As a child I was always interested in spiritual pursuits and used to pretend I had magical powers, and was even drawn into being a stage magician.  In fact, Harry Houdini was an idol of mine.  I first discovered the occult and true magickal things when I was in Junior High School and High School.  After going to college, I discovered witchcraft.  After being in the Chasidic world and orthodox Jewry for about 10 years, I started to yearn for true magickal things again.  This was 7 years ago.

I then met my present husband, who has been my rock and support.  Through him I was able to discover where I truly belonged.  I found Raymond Buckland’s book and did some learning with that, but found I didn’t learn very much.  My next discovery was Witchschool.com and where I learned even more.  I became solitary for a while and felt I needed to join a coven.  I discovered one nearby me in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and worshiped with them for just over a year.  While with them, I met my best friend Rose.  Approximately 1 year later my friend Rose introduced me to the Wiccan Family Temple, which is where I am today.  I have plans on continuing my learning and worshipping with them, and eventually becoming an elder with the temple and taking my knowledge and learning into the future. Becoming ordained and performing marriages and such.
