STARR RAVENHAWK HPs

 

Has been a practicing Eclectic Solitary Wiccan Witch since 1990.  Founder of Charmed by Starr in 1993, trained with The Minoan Sisterhood under Mary for 2 years.  In 1994 and 1995 studied Witchcraft as a Science in the Cabot Tradition at Enchantments Inc., attaining her 1st and 2nd degree under Laurie Cabot's wise teachings.

She has been organizing and serving the New York City Pagan Community for over 15 years providing lectures, classes, workshops and festivals related to the Pagan Community. 

Specializing in The Enchanted Candle Spell Castings teachings since 1995 she enjoys sharing with others how to better craft their spells. 

Being very much the business woman she started her own Pagan shops based out of several locations, Video Haven with Artie, Halloween Adventure, and finally the East Village Shop on East 3rd Street in 2005.  In May 2005 co-founded the group known as Sirens Sanctuary until separating January 2006.  Also in 2005 she founded www.charmedbystarr.com, partnering with Athena to supply all of your many ritual and magickal needs.  In October 2005 she began the first Witches Masquerade Ball with long time friend Athena, and new found friend Zan.  So began a new tradition of Witches Masquerade Balls in New York City held at The Delancey Lounge.  In 2006 she did the 2nd Annual Witches Masquerade Ball with friends Athena and Melissa also at The Delancey Lounge.  In 2007 did The 3rd Annual Witches Masquerade Ball on a Saturday which was traditionally done on Sundays.  Since completing her training as a 3rd degree High Priestess she has written all of the rituals for the Esbats and Sabbats under her guidance.  She has also performed as High Priestess in rituals for Esbats, Sabbaths, Dedications, Wiccanings, Rites of Passages and Last Rites.

In 2007 with her new found friend Luna they became the founding mothers of the New York City Wiccan Family Temple followed by The Wiccan Family Temple Academy of Pagan Studies founded by Starr, Luna and Athena.  Along with her friend Luna they also founded The New York City Pagan Council.  Now founded the Dragon Academy hived off of The WFT Academy of Pagan Studies for 5-13 year olds by Luna Rojas, HPs and Starr's 10 year old son Wyvern.  This will begin September 2008.  Starr has at this point as of July 6, 2008 is now Starr Ravenhawk,HPs of the Wiccan Family Temple.

LUNA ROJAS,HPs

Is an Eclectic Solitary Wiccan Witch.  She studied theology, mythology and magic since she was a child, where magic seems to have always been a part of her life. She is a teacher, artist and scientist by trade, which means that she cannot be a part of any religion that cannot accept evolution. Becoming Wiccan was like coming home to her. Finally a group of people focused on what was really important.  People that understood the only way to change your world is to change yourself; not to point the finger at others. Most people don’t know how powerful they can be. 
She went to a Charmed by Starr event looking for a group to share the holidays with.  It wasn’t the first group she went to, but just like before it felt like home.  They inspired her to become the founder of the New York City Pagan Council; a pagan civil rights organization. Soon after that Starr and Luna founded the New York City Wiccan Family Temple. A temple that is new and unique in its focus on bringing Witches of all types together to celebrate and educate without the pressures of joining a coven. It also encourages Wiccans to bring their families a feature that was very important to Starr and Luna, both moms raising their children Wiccan.  Her
daughter also inspired her to write Wiccan books for children and workbooks
for adults.  Which has now become Luna Roja Books sold exclusively by
Charmed by Starr on the website www.charmedbystarr.com.
She is now teaching classes at The Wiccan Family Temple Academy of Pagan Studies. As of July 6, 2008 is now Luna Rojas, HPs of the Wiccan Family Temple. 

July 8, 2008 founded the Dragon Academy hived off of the WFT Academy of Pagan Studies with Starr's 10 year old son Wyvern our resident in training at te Dragon Academy.  She is not a shy person, so if you see her at circle, please come up and say merry meet.

Athena Oros,HPs

She has been a practicing Solitary Witch for over 25 years.  Began her formal Craft training with the open Pagan Way Grove at Enchantments, Inc., and became an anointed Priestess and Witch in 1988.  Following a Solitary Path until 1992 where she was introduced to Gateway Open Circle.  She became one of the founding members and served as Focalizer/High Priestess for one term in 1993.

 

In 1992 became a core member of New Moon New York while contributing to the Our Pagan Times newsletter.  She was appointed Assistant Choral Director of Four Winds Earth Chorus in 1996 serving for many years.

                                     

In 2005, Athena partnered with Starr Ravenhawk, of Charmed By Starr, Inc whom she has known since 1994.  Now under the aegis of Charmed By Starr, and teaching under The Wiccan Family Temple subjects such as Tarot and StarLight Vision. Then began teaching under The Wiccan Family Temple Academy of Pagan Studies on a variety of Craft-related subjects, with special teaching emphasis on Divination (including Tarot and Astrology), Psychic Defense, History, Craft Philosophy and Magical Apothecary.

Being a mother herself, she became one of the members of The New York City Wiccan Family Temple, and of Wiccan Family Temple Academy of Pagan Studies.  She also became a member of The New York City Pagan Council, all of which were founded in 2007.
